I mean, I like being fit and healthy – but I hate the entire gym scene. Waiting for your turn on a machine or resting parts of your body on someone else’s sweat because they did not wipe the machine after they used it are reasons that stop me from going whenever friends invite me. I would rather have my own commercial fitness equipment. I may not have as many machines as what gyms have, but I have enough to exercise all my body parts – and I can do it without leaving my house.

While work at home mums have more control with their professional and personal responsibilities, they continue to have just as much desire and demands to perform in both roles. So how can mums guarantee that carrying out their work in a home setting and being their own boss doesn’t impact negatively on the results they generate? Taking your professional role seriously while at home is critical to generating successful outcomes, and here are five vital elements in establishing a proficient routine and mindset.

1. Determine Measurable Targets and Keep Track. Performance reviews and job descriptions are essential resources to most businesses. They are simply just as important for work at home mums, whether they work for their own business or work for an employer who does not consistently examine their outcomes. First, determine the tasks you have to perform. Break it up in units, steps and milestones, and don’t forget to attach timelines. Then, set your criteria for successful outcome, once again together with a timeline. This exercise done regularly can truly help you set the standards for your work and what you wish to accomplish. It will help you keep track of your tasks, your timelines and your results. Most significantly, it will help you analyse your performance and ascertain that what you’re doing is working. If you’re not reaching your goals, you need to either amend them, rectify the timelines or modify your actions to attain them.

2. Working Time Is For Working. Family time is for being a mum. There’s nothing wrong with putting a load of washing on between work tasks. However, work at home mums need a work schedule. Based on your objectives and responsibilities, establish a weekly timetable which is detailed around the duration and the nature of your tasks. Flexibility is a great asset; it means that you can diverge from your schedule if you need to. It does not signify you don’t need a schedule! Some ’serious work’ periods of time ought to be assigned all through the week during periods when you are not likely to be interrupted by your children, friends and family, or your household tasks. These periods can be your power hours, when you can focus and be highly productive. In the periods when you’re likely to be interrupted, assign little tasks which do not need your undivided attention.

3. Create Habits. As a work at home mum, I sometimes did several work- and family-related tasks while not finalising every one of them. I would finish up later in the day with heaps of loose ends to manage. A document not filed, an email not sent, a dish not packed in the dishwasher, and a note not made right away would together produce a mess that had to be handled when I was in fact ready to either head to bed or begin my serious work period. A number of these tasks also would take longer to completebecause I would have to re-open files, remember what I wanted to write down or deal with a full day’s worth of tidying up in the house. Creating habits takes time. Specifically, it takes approximately thirty days of consistent action to create a habit. So finish what you start. Clean up as you go, both in your work and your house. Become a highly efficient person who opens and closes tasks without delay, and you will see the change in both your time span and your head space.

4. Apply Yourself To Produce Best Results. You may be a mum working at home on your diningtable in betweenschool pick-ups, or in between breastfeeds, but this is still work. It’s what pays you. It’s what allows you to be home for your loved ones while making the income that can offer you the lifestyle you want. Hard work, drive and determination get results. Working for yourself can be your opportunity to expand your skills, widen your scope and set greater objectives for yourself. It’s up to you to acquire the new knowledge and skills you need to be brilliant at what you do, be efficient at getting great results, and completely enjoy your work. Take your work seriously, and you will get serious results!

5. Be Resourceful. Confirm the tools you need to successfully accomplish your tasks, and source them. You may not have an employer or manager to invite you to conferences or training sessions. There are some things for which work at home mums might need to outsource resources or services: 1. Training, 2. Business Tools, 3. Support/Advice/Mentoring , and 4. Networking/Teamwork. With the help of the web, you can now find anything you possibly need to run a successful business from home, whether it is technical support, financial tools, marketing materials, business coaching, a networking group, specialised coaching, and even business partners.

Working from home can be very satisfying, particularly when there’s a working balance between personal and professional commitments, and when the specified outcomes are reached. Work at home mums who take their job or business seriously will produce more positive results for themselves while being in control of their work-life balance. These mums set and measure their goals, have a work schedule, create effective habits, finish their tasks, are resourceful, and are determinedand devoted to achieving the best results.

But now, I can say that in terms of performance, some laptops can go head to head against the desktops. And with wifi being available in a lot of places, many people opt to get their own laptops. This is why wherever I go, I have my handy laptop with me.

Having a successful home based business is very rewarding and if built on the right foundation is very attainable. Two “must haves” for a successful home based business are proper training and a proven marketing system. With these two components, you will be successful.

First you must have the proper training. Anyone who is willing and dedicated to being successful in a home based business can learn the fundamentals of marketing themselves and their business with the proper training. Proper training is accomplished by connecting with people who have a training system that can be understood and followed by the beginner as well as educational for the more experienced. This training is available 24×7 to meet the needs of the prospect or business owner. Training when you want it, success is not 9 to 5.

Secondly, you must have a proven marketing system. Your time is spent marketing yourself and your product or business. Time should not be wasted on cold calling, follow up calls, business overviews etc. You need to have a proven marketing system that will leave you time for what needs to be done to make your business a success. With a proven marketing system, lead conversion is tantamount to a successful home based business. You can get leads from many sources, but in the end …what are they getting you?

As you evaluate which company and team to join, make sure they have training that educates and has a cutting-edge marketing system in place that allows you to quickly and easily acquire new product customers and business partners on a daily basis, when you want it, in the comfort of your own home.

I had an unused lot which I estimated could house about sixty 200 square-meter standalone warehouses. I was telling him about construction costs and how much it would cost me as an investment. My friend then suggested that I try prefabricated metal buildings. It turns out these steel buildings can be bought prefabricated at a cost 60% less than building from scratch. Not only can they be setup faster, but they are actually built to be stronger than traditionally built buildings.

Additional income is to the American Dream what apple pie is to America, an essential. Yet sometimes it is possible to work hard to earn money only to realize that you are putting yourself and your assets in danger of serious repercussions. Of course, with a bit of know how and finesse it is possible to avoid these problems but there are some things you need to keep in mind when trying to make extra income.

First and foremost, is your location suitable to the business you have in mind? If, for example, you are thinking of doing some part time catering for weekend events and private parties, you will want to make sure that your kitchen is up to the challenge. Is it big enough? Is it sanitary? If you have pets, will you be able to keep them out of the kitchen while you are working on the menu?

Additionally, are you well versed in proper food preparation techniques that will ensure that you observe all the rules and regulations with respect to food safety, temperature control and also transport for the food items? There is nothing worse than having whole parties come down with food related illnesses that can be traced back to you.

Not only is this a great embarrassment but it also may spawn lawsuits that might cause you to lose your home and any other asset you have. Will you need permits or licenses? While earning extra money may seem like small potatoes, it is still important to keep up with the necessary legalities.

For example, if you are planning to open a family daycare, you do not have to have a license but if your home is part and parcel of a covenant controlled community or if you rent your home, then odds are good that you need to get permission from the owner or the board of directors for the home owners association before hanging out a shingle to earn money from your home.

In many cases these permits are hard to come by and it is not surprising to find that those who attempt to skirt around the issue of permit will suddenly find themselves on the receiving end of letters threatening fines if they persist in conducting business without permission. This is one of the occasions where it is not easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

Last but not least, do you have enough disposable income to earn money a possibility? Do you have a computer system that is up to the challenge of doing the kind of work you are contemplating or do you need to invest in some new equipment? If the later is the case, make sure you are not racking up the credit cards so as to make a bit of income, but instead save up before you get ready to take on that work at home job.

Don’t break up make up, here are 5 tips on making with my boyfriend. When making up with my boyfriend I tried to remember these tips that my older and wiser friend had given me.

My ex and myself got back together so I hope they work for you too.

1.) Men don’t like chit chat: Generally speaking men don’t like to talk in depth about their feelings and forcing the issue will just cause them to clam up even more. So when you are trying to get back together, don’t force him to analyze what went wrong. If he behaved badly but is willing to apologize, accept it and move on.

2.) Men can only concentrate on one thing at a time. This is really true so don’t try and fight it. Very few men can multitask and it is their genetics that are to blame so shouting at him is pointless. The sooner you accept that your man cannot listen to you while reading his newspaper or watching TV the better. Most of the time, he is not ignoring you on purpose. The more you try to understand that this is the way he is programmed the less arguments you will have.

3.) Men like toys. The joke is that men never grow up and show it by still playing with toys. Most men love to build things and start DIY jobs. Not all of them like to finish these jobs, which can cause problems at home. Let your man indulge his hobbies, within reason. You can spend time with your girlfriends while he is fishing or building a boat. By compromising like this, he will probably be much more willing to spend time with you doing things together that you both enjoy.

4.) Don’t assume that your man knows that you want to make up with him. Men in general tend to be a bit slow in picking up signals especially about relationships. For this reason, you sometimes need to be very direct and tell them exactly how you feel. Men don’t like games unless they understand the rules like in Golf or Chess. Us women change the rules on dating more often than men change their shirts so we need to give them a break if they get a little confused.

5.) Have you heard the joke – “Why does it take loads of sperm to fertilize one egg? Because they refuse to stop for directions!” I know the men in my life would prefer to get lost, than admit defeat and stop to ask for directions. Generally men find it very hard to admit they are wrong. If you question what they say, they can believe you are implying they have done something wrong. This can cause problems in modern relationships as women are so used to being the boss at work and giving others directions.

I am not suggesting that women have to become doormats or defer to their partners. But a little understanding of genetics goes a long way to help resolve the question of making up with my boyfriend.
